An India-EU Business event will also be organised on the sidelines of the Summit with Juncker as the keynote speaker on October 6, the statement said.

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi will lead the Indian delegation at the summit.

The summit could see the PM taking up bilateral and global issues including the situation in Afghanistan, North Korea’s missile programme and the Rohingya crisis with the EU.

India and the EU will also review the progress in the negotiations over a free trade agreement (FTA) being negotiated by the two sides for over a decade.

The 13th India-EU Summit was held in Brussels on March 30, 2016.
