‘Passengers’ wasn’t a failure: Jennifer Lawrence

A still from the film 'Passengers'

Jennifer Lawrence's last outing “Passengers” was blasted by critics for its flawed plot but the actor said she did not consider it a failure.

The 2016 sci-fi film, which featured Lawrence alongside Chris Pratt, followed a space-bound colonisation ship loaded with thousands of passengers who were meant to be in suspended animation until they reached the end of their 120-year voyage.

While Pratt previously admitted he was surprised by the harsh reviews, Lawrence in a recent interview to Vogue responded to the criticism.

“I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't spot it,” she said.

“I thought the script was beautiful it was this tainted, complicated love story. It definitely wasn't a failure. I'm not embarrassed by it by any means. There was just stuff that I wished I'd looked into deeper before jumping on.”

Lawrence will next be seen in “Mother!”, which is currently in post-production. The film is directed by Darren Aronofsky.
