R Madhavan had a real-life ‘3 Idiots’ moment with his father

R Madhavan and Dia Mirza were loved for the onscreen chemistry in the film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. The film has clocked in 16 years, and the lead pair celebrated the day in each other’s company.
Madhavan played a tough college going student, who carried his heart on sleeve. His character’s name in the film is Maddy.
Dia played a girl next door, who confuses the guy he had to meet for marriage with Madhavan and falls in love with him instead. Her character of Reena has been loved by many.

The duo had met on the Diwali night and celebrated the festival together along with the celebration of their movie.
Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein also featured Saif Ali Khan, whose onscreen enmity with Madhavan made many take sides while watching the film.
The songs of the film did quite well and ‘Zara Zara’ topped the charts then.
