Delhi Police&’s elite units were able to nab more than 900 criminals which includes terrorist and ISI agents in the year 2015.
According to police, Crime Branch and Special Cell arrested 936 criminals, which included terrorists and ISI operatives.
The Crime Branch was able to catch 726 criminals, which includes 32 rewarded criminals.
"Around 300 arms and ammunition were recovered by Crime Branch," police said, adding that more than 16 people were arrested for cheating people which includes foreign nationals.
During 2015, Crime Branch received wide spread acclaim by busting very important rackets of national importance, which includes espionage racket sponsored by Pakistan ISI, arrested 16 persons involved in stealing important documents of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG).
"A total of 780 missing children have been rescued and linked in the previous year under Operation Milap," police said, adding that 24 modules of cheating or frauds were busted in 2015.
During current year, a total of 22,957 search slips and 3,768 slips of finger prints have been updated and 4,354 chance prints examined in 1,436 cases.
"42 criminals were linked with crime by matching or search of chance prints in 37 cases," police said.
Police claimed that around 12,26,116 lost reports and 22,644 e-FIRs have been registered,15,615 untrace reports have been accepted by the courts and 1,267 vehicles have been recovered through electronic search and matching done through central server located in e-police station of crime branch.
Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested 210 criminals in 2015, which includes 41 gangsters, 33 counterfeiters, 19 rewarded criminals,12 gun runners.
"Six alleged terrorists which include operatives of al-Qaeda in Indian subcontinent (AQIS), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Communist Party of India (Maoist) and Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) were also arrested", police records reveal, adding that 28 Indian and five Nigerians were arrested for drug trafficking.
"Eight terrorist includes four from Jaish-e-Mohammed, one from Hizbul Mujahideen, one from Lashkar-e-Taiba, two from Kangleipak Communist Party KCP(MC) were convicted," police said, adding that 40 other criminals were also convicted.
At the end of the year, Special Cell was successful in busting the module of AQIS. Chandeshwar Yadav who was a sub-zonal commander of a banned Maoist organisation and Ngamsinlung Panmei leader were other prominent arrest made by Special Cell last year.
