Nandita Narain of the Democratic Teacher’s Front (DTF) has been re-elected as DUTA President by securing 2390 votes, in the Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) election held on 27 August.

Nandita defeated V S Negi of the National Democrtic Teacher’s Front (NDTF) by 225 votes in a very close contest.

All four candidates of the DTF panel, Bhupinder Chaudhry (5042), Vijaya Venkataraman (4455), Angad Tiwari (4375) and Vivek Mohan (4211) have been elected to the Executive body.

"This is a historic verdict in the sense that teachers have reposed faith on DTF ability to lead the teachers’ movement for the third time in succession. The voters mostly voted against CBCS and Central University Bill," said a DTF supporter.
