Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced 50 per cent hike in minimum wages for workers across sectors.

“We have decided to increase minimum wages in Delhi by about 50 per cent,” Kejriwal said, adding that “Cabinet may approve it this week”.

“Economy will improve if the government will put money in the pocket of poor and middle class people,” Kejriwal said at the Chhatrasaal Stadium here.

Meanwhile, talking about delhi statehood the CM asked “why the value of vote in Delhi was less compared to other states”.

“Why is Delhi being deprived of full statehood,” he added.
