New Delhi, 3 September: A 24-year-old Gurgaon woman, a former air-hostess was allegedly raped by a businessman on the pretext of giving her job in the Capital. A zero FIR was registered in Gurgaon’s civil line police station after which the case was transferred to Greater Kailash police station in south-east Delhi on Tuesday.
Police said that late on Monday evening, the victim approached Gurgaon police and got a zero FIR registered against the accused who is absconding.
In her complaint to the police, the girl alleged that a businessman in Amritsar who befriended her on a social networking site, raped her four months ago. Rohit Handa visited Delhi in April and called her to a hotel room in south-east Delhi, where she was allegedly offered a cold drink laced with sedatives. When she felt dizzy, the accused raped her. The girl lives in Gurgaon. She told the cops that she is jobless for the last several months after an airline company shut down its operation. As she was in a dire need of job, she met Handa on facebook who promised her a job soon. On 20 April, Handa, on the pretext of teaching her some basic tricks to impress employers, called her at a hotel in Nehru place, where he raped her. The girl alleged that Handa even clicked her obscene photographs and blackmailed her. Later, he took me to Bangkok for a job interview. "The accused fooled me first on the pretext of getting a job and then on marriage. He exploited me physically and mentally," said the complaint. sns
