The national capital got its first shower of the month on Monday, but before people could even enjoy the fresh spell of monsoon, the city witnessed heavy traffic congestion owing to water logging in many areas.

Office-goers and commuters faced difficult time in the morning due to the traffic jam at ITO bridge, the National Highway 24, Ring Road connecting from Lakshmi Nagar, Akshardham, Sarai Kale Khan, Lajpat Nagar  to Dhaula Kuan. Other areas affected are Vasant Kunj, Najafgarh, Cannaught Place, Shahdara, Huda City Centre, DLF Cyber City, Commuters on the BRT corridor from Khanpur to Archana and Janakpuri are among the worst sufferers.

Although the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has claimed to undertake various measures for the monsoon season, fresh shower exposed all the claims of preparedness.
