Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly, along with all the BJP MLAs met the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and discussed the various problems related to DDA.
"Though Delhi Jal Board has condoned 100 per cent late payment surcharge under amnesty scheme and even given 30 per cent rebate to those who are paying the outstanding amount but these concessions are not being given to DDA colonies," said Prof Malhotra.
He also demanded that the Delhi Jal Board should implement amnesty scheme in the DDA colonies immediately. Expeditiously, NOC be given to those unauthorized colonies which were developed on DDA land, so that the development works in these colonies can be taken up, he said.
In view of the fact that there is no clear cut decision regarding the upkeep and maintenance of boundary walls and common areas in the Group Housing Societies falling under the purview of DDA, there is a strong resentment among the people living in the area, said Prof Malhotra. He added that the then LG in a meeting had taken a decision regarding maintenance of boundary wall and common areas in all DDA colonies which has not been taken up till date.
