New Delhi, 3 September
A Delhi BJP delegation today met the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Najeeb Jung, and demanded immediate removal of the Chief Minister, Mrs Sheila Dikshit, following a local court’s order to register an FIR against her in a case of alleged misuse of public money for political propaganda.
The delegation, comprising BJP MLAs and corporators, held a protest march from the Vidhan Sabha to Raj Niwas where they submitted a memorandum to the L-G listing  corruption charges against the CM. They said she has lost not only the moral authority to continue in office but also the faith of the people of Delhi.
The Delhi BJP president, Mr Vijay Goel, said there appears to be a conspiracy of silence as even four days after the court’s ruling, neither the police nor the BJP has been able to get a copy of the court order. There are attempts to shield the corrupt chief minister, he alleged.
BJP leaders demanded that the ongoing advertising campaign, which they charged was misusing public money of more than Rs 300 crore, be stopped immediately.
