In a tragic incident a 47-year-old married woman sustained severe burn injuries after she was attacked with acid over personal enmity in Punjabi Bagh area of west Delhi on Sunday evening.
The victim was identified as Sudhesh Yadav. She lives along with her husband, Kishore at Shivaji Enclave near Raja Garden area.
 In her statement to the police, Sudhesh stated that on Sunday at around 7 pm, when she was heading towards Jwala Heri market, four men on two moped, hurled acid on her and fled.
 When she raised an alarm, several locals rushed and took her to the nearby Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where she underwent a treatment for her burn injuries. Later, she was discharged from the hospital on Monday.
 According to hospital sources, the victim sustained around 40 percent burns in her chest, face and neck.
 Police said that the victim claims to have identified the attackers, who are absconding.
Sudhesh further claimed that the attack was carried out possibly over a feud between two families. She was supporting one of the families due to which it is suspected that she was attacked by the second family.
 Police said that a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code with Punjabi Bagh police station and subsequently, separate teams have been formed and pressed into service to conduct raids at the possible hideouts of the accused.
