It seems the security of the women to be remained in trouble as a teenaged girl was murdered and raped in Hapur while a graduate student was beaten up in public by some youths of other community  in UP region.

On the other hand ‘Women security and empowerment’ week is being celebrated on directions of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Calling it unfortunate SP city Meerut Maan Singh Chauhan said that such incidents indicate that people need to change their mindset towards females so that their honour and pride is maintained.

These incidents happened during ongoing week of ‘Women security and empowerment’ in which the police is organising programmes in different schools and colleges to ensure safety and security of women and sensitise them on issues related to their safety. An incident of rape was reported in Dhaulana area of district Hapur on Thursday night where a 14-year-old girl was raped and murdered when she had gone to collect fodder. When she didn’t return the worried family members and villagers began a search and spotted her naked dead body inside a field and her throat was slitted.

Angry villagers jammed the road and also protest at Dhaulana police station demanding immediate arrest of those involved in the crime.

SHO of Dhaulana police station, Narendra Sharma said that a case has been registered on the complaint of family. The criminals are being identified and would soon be arrested.  Another incident was reported in Meerut where a graduate student was beaten up by boys of other community. Being the matter of two communities leaders of Bajrang Dal jumped into the matter and warned police to initiate action against the accused or else Dal activists will throw him out of his house.

The victim girl is a college student, who is also preparing for competitive exams in a coaching institute of Shastri Nagar.  The accused boy of Zaidi farm colony also attends coaching classes there. On Wednesday he had an altercation with the girl over some issue. On the following day he came with his friends and caught hold of the girl outside the coaching. He allegedly slapped the girl many times in full public glare while  no one came to her rescue. The girl narrated her ordeal to family members on phone and a complaint was lodged in Nauchandi police station against the accused.

SP (city) Maan Singh Chauhan said that a case has been registered against the youth and raid was conducted at his house to arrest him but he is still at large.
