Haryana to honour Miss World Manushi Chhillar

Haryana government has decided to honour Manushi Chhillar who the Miss World 2017 crown.

Congratulating Chhillar for becoming Miss World, Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said that state government would soon honourManushi, a medical student at BhagatPhool Singh Women University, KhanpurKalan in the presence of Chief Minister ManoharLalKhattar.

Sharma said that Haryana’s daughter Manushi has proved her mettle and brought glory to the nation at global level. Our daughters like Sakshi, Geeta, Babita, Rani Rampal, SainaNehwal and KalpanaChawla has outshined in various fields and made the whole nation proud at international level, he added.

The Minister also criticized the derogatory and senseless tweet of Congress MP ShashiTharoor on ManushiChhillar and said that Tharoor was a person of distorted mind.

What the society can expect from a person who is suspect in murder case of her own wife. His (Tharoor’s) comment had insulted all women in the society, Sharma added.

Sharma said, “The statement of Tharoor had shows his anti-women thinking. He should apologize publicly from all women. He said the significant achievement of our daughter Manushi is inspirational, thus Tharoor should have congratulated her rather making senseless and derogatory remarks.”

The 20-year-old from Haryana, won the Miss World 2017 crown at a grand event in China on 18 November. She brought title back to the country after a spell of 17 years.
