Five terrorists were killed by the army on Friday when they tried to infiltrate from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) through the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector in Kashmir.
“Five terrorists have been killed by the army in Uri sector of the LoC where a major infiltration bid has been foiled,” said Defence Ministry spokesman, Col Rajesh Kalia. “The operation against the terrorists is still going on,” he added.
On Thursday, the army had killed three militants in Naugam sector of the LoC in Kupwara district as they foiled an infiltration attempt.

A soldier was also killed in the Naugam operation.
Details of the encounter are awaited. The army has eliminated 12 terrorists in the past three days.
