Stalin, who has been pressing for a CBI probe into the matter, referred to senior minister ‘Dindigul’ C Srinivasan’s recent apology for “lying” to the people about the health of Jayalalithaa and London-based specialist Richard Beale’s earlier statement that proper treatment was given to her.

“Considering the magnitude of the investigation which would require questioning of various persons including Union ministers, the London specialist, doctors from Singapore, AIIMS, there is no doubt that a CBI enquiry alone will be suitable,” he said.
Stalin, the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, urged the Centre to issue orders for a CBI probe in order to bring out the truth behind the demise of Jayalalithaa.
