A blue colour Wagon R owned by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was stolen from outside Delhi secretariat on Thursday afternoon.

Vandana Singh, member of AAP’s media cell, reported the matter at IP estate police station. DCP (Central), Mandeep Singh Randhawa said: “The incident was reported at around 2.30 p.m. Complaint has been registered at IP Estate police station and investigation into the case has been started.”

CCTV footages of the area have been analysed. The stolen car was bearing the vehicle number DL-9CG-9769 and blue in colour. Earlier, the car was used by the Chief Minister but now, a AAP’s member had been using it, said police.

Though, the Chief Minister did not make any comment on the incident but he re-tweeted one status questioning Delhi Police’s alertness quoting, “So much for Delhi police – dhyan kidhar hai !!,” asked the user with the handle ‘jalajboy.’

While talking to The Statesman, Vandana Singh said: “This car is very important for the whole party. We got it through donation and volunteers used it during campaign. It was like a sweet memory for all of us and police must act promptly and find out the car.”

Emphasizing on the security issues, AAP’s spokesperson said: “Delhi Police has completely failed in providing safety to public. When Chief Minister’s car cannot be safe then what else we can expect from the police. Whereas, accused was captured in CCTV camera when he took away the car but the quality of the camera was so poor that it could not help in identifying the accused.”
