SC asks states/UTs to decide on plea seeking to conduct yatras on poll awareness
The bench was told that such orders prohibit all kinds of assemblies, meetings and demonstrations during the duration of elections.
Extending Subrata Roy’s parole, the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday asked Sahara Group to deposit Rs.5092.6 crore by April 7.
“SC directs Sahara Group to deposit Rs 5092.6 crore for its chief Subrata Roy to get bail,” reports stated, adding, "The money should be deposited by April 7”.
“Beleaguered Sahara Group Chief Subrata Roy’s parole has been extended till April 17,” reports added.

Meanwhile, the court asked entity willing to buy Sahara's stake in US hotel to deposit Rs.750 cr in the apex court registry by April 10.
On February 6, the SC attached Sahara Group's Aamby Valley property in Pune for the recovery of Rs.14,799 crore.
Roy was sent to jail on March 4, 2014, for not complying with the apex court's orders in connection with a long dispute with the market regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
According to Sahara, it has paid more than 80 per cent of the dues to share-holders. SEBI, however, has disputed that.
