NEW DELHI, 22 JUNE: The Confederation of Indian Industry has said the Cabinet’s nod for relaxation in exit provisions, which has been a long-standing demand from highway developers, is a welcome step.
“Given the lack of developmental capital in the country, it is heartening that the government has allowed complete exit to developers any time after the financial closure for a project is achieved. This will allow early stage investors to plough back the released equity into the sector and will facilitate entry of long-term investors ,” said Mr Athar Shahab, chairman, CII core group on roads & highways and CEO, Uniquest Infra Ventures.
