New Delhi, 21 July: The empowered committee of state finance ministers will elect a new chairman tomorrow to pursue implementation of Goods and Services Tax.
The post of chairman of the state FM’s committee has been lying vacant since 17 June when Bihar finance minister Sushil Kumar Modi resigned following the JD(U)-BJP split in the eastern state.
“The committee will elect the chairman on Monday and thereafter, they will meet finance minister P Chidambaram,” an official acquainted with the development, said.     pti
