The BJP’s Delhi unit will hold its 'Vistarak' (expansion) programme from 23 June to 6 July, state unit president Manoj Tiwari announced on Thursday.

He said the programme will coincide with the birth centenary celebration of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. "A total of 12276 workers have voluntarily registered to work as 'alp kalik vistarak' for 15 days in all the seven parliamentary constituencies. This scheme will be conducted at the Pradesh level by general secretary Rajesh Bhatia and at the Parliamentary constituency level by Satender Singh," said Tiwari.

He said the purpose of the 'Vistarak Yojna' is to apprise the people about the objectives and programmes of the BJP, the policies of the Central government and the life and achievements of Deen Dayal Upadhyay and other great personalities.

"On the one hand the workers will connect new people with the party and on the other they will also try to re-activate party workers who have not been active for the last few years," said Tiwari.

He said apart from national office-bearers, all MPs, former pradesh presidents, MLAs, councillors, former MLAs and ex-councillors, present and former office-bearers of the party will also make public contact in their respective areas.

"Today the assembly-level trainers have given training to more than 12,000 Vistaraks in all the assembly constituencies," he added.
