CPSEs’ income up 24% in 2011-12
NEW DELHI, 8 JUNE: The total income of all Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) during 2011-12 was Rs 18,24,627 crore ~ 24.08 per cent higher than the previous year. As per the latest CPSEs data released, the CPSEs’ total turnover during 2011-12 was also 23 per cent higher than 2010-11. On 31 March 2012, the country had 481 CPSEs ~ 338 government companies, 137 deemed government companies and six statutory corporations. sns
Arvind plans four-fold growth
MUMBAI, 8 JUNE: Integrated textile and apparel company, Arvind, said yesterday it is planning a four-fold growth for its fabric business brand of the same name during the next four years to Rs 2,000 crore, from Rs 500 crore in FY13. "Our aim is to make brand Arvind a Rs 2,000-crore mega brand in the next four years. It will be made possible with the rapid rollout of Arvind stores which will have over 400 outlets and revenue in excess of Rs 600 crore by FY18," Arvind Executive Director, Mr Kulin Lalbhai, told reporters. pti
SBI opens e-Corner
KOLKATA, 8 JUNE: State Bank of India (SBI) (Bengal Circle) has opened its 13th e-Corner at Jeevandeep, 1 Middleton Street Road, Kolkata yesterday. The e-Corner is a technology driven one-stop Banking Services centre housing multiple ATMs, Cash Deposit Machine (CDM), Self Service Kiosk (SSK) and Coin Vending Machine (CVM), which can be used for cash withdrawal, cash deposit, updating passbook, receiving coins among host of other services available through these machines round the clock without going to the branch. pti
CII pact with CIMA
MUMBAI, 8 JUNE: Industry body CII today inked an agreement with Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to collaborate on enhancing cost competitiveness among Indian companies, CIMA Chief Executive, Mr Charles Tilley, told reporters here.
