Creating a safe working environment at any workplace is an essential task for its human resource team and mangers. Doesn't matter what employee strength a business has, safety can never be taken lightly. All corporate should have regulations to follow religiously. Here are a few steps to assure safety of employees at workplace:

Awareness is the key:

Teach awareness in a positive and proactive approach, which helps in addressing potential and upcoming dangers before they become an issue for its employees. Paying attention to suspicious and unusual behaviour helps in identifying the odds. Do not be afraid to report or enquire against unusual and motivate your employees to be strong and fearless.

Develop a strategic plan:

It is necessary to make employees understand what needs to be done when there is a crisis in a form of a natural disaster or by violent person. The policy and procedure should have a detailed written plan of action with the strategic implementation to understand how to deal with a particular situation. This plan should be made with the support of legal team/counsellor.

Designate a proper emergency exit:

While developing the work space, it is important to designate the emergency exits. All employees should be familiarised with it properly in case of any alarming situation. A document should be made with a map of doorways.

Do the drill:

It is essential to plan mock drills every quarter or at least once in six months to make train and alert your employees. Drills make them practice what needs to be done and where to go at time of crisis.

Maintenance of the building:

It is essential to maintain the building of your workplace. The management should get it inspected from time to time and necessary improvements should be done. Little safety measure like adding rubber padding at the end of the stairways, mats to avoid slipping can give your employees the peace of mind.

Streamline of HR policies:

Regulations and policies helps in maintaining decorum and discipline at the workplace. All corporate/business should incorporate the necessary regulations and policies. Strict rules and regulations should be highlighted and special cell should be created.

Maintain records of visitors:

Establish a proper procedure for recording the entry of visitors before they come inside the office premises. It is necessary to check the identification and take his necessary details before let the person come inside the workplace. All these tips help a business/corporate in achieving an environment for overall productivity. A safety workplace helps to work comfortably and achieve its goals effectively.
