32 student officers get degrees at MCEME’s convocation

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, Vice-Chancellor A Venugopal Reddy on Thursday conferred engineering degrees to 32 student officers at the convocation of Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) here.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy quoted Swami Vivekananda and said those who received their degrees on Thursday should remain a student forever.

"To convey Swami Vivekananda's views on education, I may say that education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man. This process is starting today and will continue throughout your life. I wish good luck to every officer graduating today on this journey of remaining an eternal student of advance technology and knowledge," a defence release quoted him as saying.

Commandant MCEME Lieutenant General KK Aggarwal said the institution has qualified teaching staff and the infrastructure to offer best education to the students.

"We at MCEME have a well qualified and self motivated teaching staff, state of the art facilities in the form of labs, integrated class room, IT infrastructure. The college has also recently linked up with the National Knowledge Network and are in the process of setting up procedures to harness the large knowledge pool existing in premier education institutions like IIsT, IIsM, ISB, JNU and JNTU Hyderabad," he said.

MCEME, Secunderabad, was established in 1953. Over the years the College has developed into a premier training institution of the Indian Army, it added.
