The SP, Burdwan, Mr S M H Meerza, said: “A specific case has been initiated against the accused and they were produced in court today.” The CJM Court today ordered five days jail custody for the accused.
Two Trinamul Congress factions controlled by two state ministers, Mr Ghatak and Mr Robiranjan Chatterjee, are getting involved in clashes ever since the party assumed power in the state. Despite warnings, the infighting continued unabated. Mr Palit is a Trinamul Congress member and is loyal to minister Mr Chatterjee.
