The state president of Trinamool Congress women wing Chandrima Bhattacharjee on Thursday lambasted state BJP president Rahul Sinha for his “most demeaning” statement against women.
Trinamool Congress women wing will launch a protest rally from College Square to Dorina crossing on Friday at 4 p.m. Sinha had made a “derogatory” remark about the plight of women in Bengal under Mamata Banerjee-government.
Bhattacharjee demanded that Sinha should apologise publicly for his “slanderous” comment in public. Continuing his tirade against the Trinamool-government Sinha alleged during the day the chief minister was backing rapists.
Talking to newsmen after visiting Dr Prasenjit Biswas and his wife Dr Champa Biswas who were assaulted allegedly by Trinamool Congress workers a few days ago.
The couple is receiving treatment at Calcutta Medical College and hospital. Sinha complained Miss Banerjee had failed to curb criminal activities in the state and was giving shelter to those who had committed rape. He shought Governor KN Tripathi’s intervention in arresting the criminals who had beaten up the doctors’ couple.
