A Class-IX student, Dilwar Hossain of Laskarpur Baliaghat High School in the Samsherganj area in Murshidabad, was hacked to death yesterday near his residence at Jadabnagar village under the jurisdiction of Samsherganj police station. The student&’s body with multiple injury marks was recovered today from a turmeric field near his home.
The student used to work as a masonry labourer in Kolkata from where he came back home to sit for an unit test in school, local sources informed.
His father, Shis Mohammed is a TB patient. Dilwar went out to meet his friends yesterday evening and didn’t come back home after that. His body was found with his tongue severed, fingers chopped off, eyes plucked out and his private parts cut off, police said.
Police detained four persons, including the victim&’s mother, Gulshan Bibi, for interrogation.
The SP, Murshidabad, Dr Humayun Kabir said: “It is suspected that the murderers knew the victim. A probe is on. A revenge motive might have led to the murder. The culprits will be arrested shortly.”
