KOLKATA, 8 JUNE: Mr Subodh Jain, member engineering and member staff, Railway Board, visited the construction site of Jubilee Bridge to inspect the progress of work.
A high-level meeting was held yesterday at Eastern Railway headquarters at Fairlie place in connection with the ongoing projects of Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway and Metro Railway in the state.
Progress of projects like doubling of Krisnanagar-Bethuadahari, Bethuadhari-Plassey, Nalhati-Sagardighi, Nabadwipdham-Patuli and construction work of Jubilee Bridge were also reviewed.
Mr Jain expressed satisfaction over the progress made by the Eastern Railway and advised for early completion of all ongoing projects. He also reviewed the passenger amenities work and other construction work for effective functioning of railways as a whole and Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway and Metro Railway in particular.
Mr G C Agarwal, general manager, Eastern Railway, along with all principal heads of departments (PHODs) attended the meeting while Mr Radhey Shyam, general manager, Metro Railway, and principal officers of South Eastern Railway were also present.
