KOLKATA, 9 JUNE: “People will suffer if the Trinamul Congress wins the panchayat poll," former chief minister and CPI-M leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharya said today at Khelaghar playground in Bongaon in North 24-Parganas. He was addressing a party rally. In his brief speech he alleged the Trinamul established a reign of anarchy in the state during their two-year rule. "Several rape cases were reported in the state during their tenure. People are committing suicide because of unemployment and rate of joblessness is rapidly increasing," he said.  He however did not mention the attack on journalists at Barrackpore or the Barasat gangrape. sns
