Kolkata, 5 December
A road march was organised by RTG Animate-Animation Academy to create awareness about the animation industry and pay respect to Walter Elias Disney today on his 112th birth anniversary.
The road march started from the RTG premises at Park Circus and continued till Golpark and then again returned to the place where it started.
The animation industry is one of the fastest growing industries and is worth more than Rs 2400 crores. The animation industry, even today, stands entirely on the creation of Mr Disney, remarks Mr Atanu Bandhopadhya, Marketing Manager of RTG Animate
There were more than 100 participants in the road march, who were mostly the students and faculty of RTG Animate. These participants came from the states of Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand and even from Bhutan.
All the decorations and banners were made by the students only, says Mr Bandhopadhya.
He further remarks that though most of the professionals who work in the animation industry across the globe are Bengalees, there is a lack of awareness about the industry amongst Bengalees here in the state.
RTG , as claimed by Mr Bandhopadhya, is trying to create awareness through this road march and on this very special day as we commemorate the 112th birth anniversary of Walter Disney.
