Balurghat, 6 January: In order to provide better health services, state health authorities have decided to install lift service facility for ailing patients at Balurghat district hospital of South Dinajpur district soon. A fund of Rs 48 lakh has been allotted from the state health department for it.
Hospital superintendent, A K Dewan said the hospital authority has already received a tranche to carry on the first phase of work.
Recently, a full-fledged survey was conducted by the senior officials of state health department, acting on the urgent appeal of the hospital authority for immediate allotment of funds to provide this essential service to the district inhabitants.
“We are exalted that the state health department has responded to the appeal positively. The foundation stone for the facility has already been laid by the state PWD minister, Sankar Chakraborty. We hope the installation would be completed soon,” Mr Dewan said. sns
