Department of Botany, Sikkim University and Indian National Science Academy conducted a Frontier Lectures in Biology “Under INSA 100 Lectures”.
Organised in collaboration with the Department of Botany, SU and the INSA, the lecture aims at informing the students regarding the Science Education Programme of the Indian Academy of Sciences and making them aware about the 100 lectures of the INSA&’s to the students.
While giving introduction to the INSA 100 lecturers, Mr S K Saidapur, former V-C and VP of INSA, said: “INSA&’s 100 fellows have gone to remote places of the country”.
He added: “Sikkim University should take advantage of the academy&’s programme to encourage the students for taking of the Science Education Programme”.
Giving his presidential remarks, Prof T B Subba, Vice-Chancellor of the Sikkim University observed “the students here need exposure to the scientist and science frequently, as they are deprived of many latest updates being located in this part of the
country.
