In the news item, ‘Bumpy ride for Haldia Dock Complex’ published in The Statesman dated 28 June on page 5, the name of the CPI-M Rajya Sabha MP was erroneously carried as Mr Anil Sen. It was Mr Tapan Sen who wrote the letter to the Union shipping minister. The error is regretted. 
Union officer meets Mamata at Writers’
KOLKATA, 28 JUNE: Officer on special duty in the Union Home ministry, Mr Anil Goswami, tipped to be the next Union home secretary, met Miss Mamata Banerjee at Writers’ Buildings today. Chief secretary Sanjay Mitra, Home Secretary Basudeb Banerjee and DGP Naparajit Mukherjee were also present at the meeting. Mr Goswami later met Mr Sanjay Mitra. He stayed for an hour. He also visited the BSF office on Gurusaday Dutta Road and also met Coast Guard and Central intelligence agency officials as well. “A discussion on the 12 per cent occupancy by Bangladeshi prisoners in the correctional homes of WB was also held,” the official said. sns
