Arambagh, 5 December
Arms and ammunition were recovered from the residence of the Arambagh CPI-M zonal secretary and the son of the zonal secretary was arrested.
Today in the afternoon, police recovered 20 country made bombs, one pistol and one bullet from the residence of Ganesh Adhikari, the Arambagh CPI-M zonal secretary.
He was absent from his house at this time.
Mr Swapan Nandi, the Trinamul&’s Arambagh block president said that the CPI-M is once again trying to create unrest before the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. The TMC today in the evening brought out a procession to demand the arrest of Mr Ganesh Adhikari and they also submitted a memorandum to the IC Arambagh to this effect.
Mr Sunil Sarkar, the member of the district CPM secretary committee, however, blamed the TMC for conspiring against Mr Adhikari.
He said that recently the TMC goons compelled the CPI-M municipal councillor of ward no 10 to sign a resignation letter and also threatened him and his
family with dire consequences.
