Ten computers were stolen from Itahar High school in the Itahar police station area of North Dinajpur district last night. The thieves reportedly entered the school scaling boundary wall.
They then broke into
the computer room of the school. They fled with 10 computers.
Reportedly, the thieves left another 10 computers in the ground of the school. Panic spread in the locality after the incident.
It is learnt that the Council Secretary of the state government and MLA Itahar is the secretary of this school.
The Head Master of Itahar High School, Mr Biplab Tarafder, said: "There were several lakh amount of accessories in the computer room and laboratories in our school. Hence, tight security is very essential. We lodged a complaint with police. Police were told to arrange security near our school."
The OC, Itahar police station, Mr N T Bhutiya, said: "No one has been arrested yet. We have started an investigation over the theft. The criminals will be caught soon."
